About Ann

If there's one thing I've learned over the course of my life, it's this: transformation isn't something that happens to us. It's something we choose.

For more than three decades, I have been fascinated by human potential—what allows some people to rise after adversity, reinvent themselves after setbacks, and create lives that feel deeply aligned with who they truly are. That fascination isn't merely professional; it's personal. Throughout my life, I've experienced profound transitions, heartbreaks, reinventions, losses, victories, and awakenings. Like many people, I've spent years asking difficult questions: Who am I beneath my roles, titles, and accomplishments? What is my highest potential? What gets in the way of becoming who I am meant to be? And how do I continue moving forward when life doesn't unfold according to plan?

My search for those answers led me to study leadership, coaching, personal development, emotional healing, spirituality, resilience, and human behavior for more than 30 years. Along the way, I discovered that transformation is rarely about acquiring something new. More often, it's about removing the obstacles that prevent us from expressing who we already are. Fear. Conditioning. Limiting beliefs. Old wounds. Unexamined assumptions. Societal expectations. The stories we've inherited about who we should be and what is possible for our lives.

That realization became the foundation for both my personal journey and my professional work.

The Power of Fortitude

One word has become central to my work: fortitude.

To me, fortitude is more than resilience. It is the willingness to keep moving forward when certainty is unavailable. It is the courage to examine our lives honestly, release identities that no longer serve us, and continue growing even when growth feels uncomfortable. It is the capacity to remain connected to ourselves during periods of uncertainty, loss, reinvention, and change.

I've witnessed the power of fortitude in my own life and in the lives of countless leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, and individuals navigating significant transitions. The people who emerge strongest are not necessarily the most talented, intelligent, privileged, or successful. They are often the people willing to stay engaged with their own growth, even when the path ahead is unclear.

The good news is that fortitude isn't something we're born with. It's something we develop. And often, it is life's greatest challenges that become our greatest teachers.

My Professional Journey

As an attorney, certified professional coach, executive leader, entrepreneur, author, and former Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer, I've spent my career helping people and organizations navigate change. I've led transformational initiatives inside government, nonprofits, law firms, and businesses. I've coached leaders through uncertainty, advised organizations through complex cultural shifts, and spoken to audiences ranging from intimate groups to thousands of attendees.

Yet some of the most meaningful lessons I've learned have come through lived experience. I've learned what it means to begin again. I've learned what it means to rebuild after disappointment and loss. I've learned that success alone does not create fulfillment and that achievement, while valuable, cannot substitute for self-awareness, purpose, or authenticity. Most importantly, I've learned that our greatest breakthroughs often begin when we're willing to examine what has been holding us back and take responsibility for creating something different.

Seeing Greatness in Others

One of the gifts I've carried throughout my life is the ability to see potential in people—sometimes long before they can see it in themselves. I see strengths hidden beneath self-doubt, possibilities obscured by fear, and purpose underneath pain. I often recognize patterns, gifts, and leadership qualities that people have overlooked or dismissed because they have become so accustomed to viewing themselves through the lens of their limitations.

Whether I'm speaking on stage, facilitating a workshop, leading a course, writing a book, or working one-on-one with a client, my goal is not to fix anyone. I don't believe people are broken. I believe most people are far more capable, resilient, and powerful than they realize. Sometimes they have abandoned themselves in the process of achieving accomplishments. They simply need support, perspective, and someone willing to reflect back authentic possibilities they can no longer see for themselves.

Why Clients Hire Me

Clients hire me because I bring a rare combination of lived experience, executive leadership, strategic thinking, coaching expertise, spiritual depth, and genuine compassion. I understand transformation from multiple perspectives—not only because I have studied it extensively, but because I have spent decades navigating it personally and professionally.

They value my ability to bridge practical action with deeper personal insight, challenge limiting assumptions while creating psychological safety, and integrate personal growth with an understanding of the larger social and cultural forces that shape our lives. Many clients tell me they feel deeply seen, understood, and challenged in ways that help them move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

Most importantly, clients hire me because they are not looking for inspiration alone. They are looking for meaningful, sustainable change. They want to navigate significant transitions with greater courage, resilience, self-awareness, and purpose. They want to become more authentically themselves. Helping people do exactly that is both my passion and my life's work.
